The artist once again delighted the audience with beautiful melodies accompanied by Cuban pianist Jorge Sosa and the band ‘Batuta’ led by Dominican musician Juan Pablo Polanco, as well as an exhibition of artworks from the De Valle gallery.

La Romana. Yves de Keersmaeker is one of those people who never give up until they achieve their goals. The Belgian designer proved this once again during his artistic presentation on Friday, August 17, at the home of Edward and Mathew De Valle in Casa de Campo, La Romana.

YdK, as he is known artistically, gave a spectacular live concert, this time accompanied by Cuban pianist Jorge Sosa and Dominican musician Juan Pablo Polanco’s band called ‘Batuta’.

To the rhythm of jazz, bossa nova, and other musical genres, YdK impressed everyone present with the progress he has made in music, thanks to his arduous vocal training and the collaboration of great musicians and vocal coaches who constantly support him.

The repertoire of songs performed by YdK last Friday included “The Look of Love,” “If I Take You Home Tonight,” and “Let’s Face the Music and Dance” by Diana Krall; “Bleeding Love” by Leona Lewis; “Bésame Mucho” by Consuelo Velázquez; “La Vie en Rose” by Edith Piaf, among others.

It should be noted that prior to Yves’ performance, guests had the opportunity to enjoy several pieces of art from the De Valle family’s gallery, ARTSDQ, located in Santo Domingo.

Among the pieces were photographs by artist Miriam Calzada, several Giclée on canvas of iconic figures such as Marilyn Monroe, David Bowie, and Queen Elizabeth II by German painter Michael Moebius, among others.

Future plans

YdK is not slowing down. This rising artist continues to seek opportunities both in his home country and in Belgium and the United States to perform more concerts with bands and orchestras.

On October 7, he will perform with an orchestra composed of 20 musicians (violins, double basses, piano, cello, etc.) in Brussels. This will be his first live concert with a classical orchestra.

Then, in September, he is expected to release his first music video. It is the video for the gospel song “Take me to The alley,” which was recorded in La Romana and Bayahibe.

“I want to show my country of residence, its people, its culture, its atmosphere, and its beautiful colors,” explains Yves, who will also release another video recorded in a spectacular villa in Casa de Campo with Victoria Yakimova as the model.

In addition, a different YdK song is released every month on Spotify: “YdKartist,” and the videos can be viewed on his YouTube channel: “YdKArtist.”

Yves encourages all his fans to follow him on Instagram and Facebook: Fan Page YdKartist or on his personal page “Yves de Keersmaeker.”
